About GSAT

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit bringing leading authors and cultural voices to New Jersey stages.

Our events spark lively, intimate conversations that connect writers with the communities they inspire.

Every ticket helps support and improve future GSAT programming. Powered entirely by volunteers, all proceeds go directly back into creating bigger, better, and more memorable author experiences—not salaries or overhead—helping us produce intimate live events where audiences can truly connect with the authors they love.

Questions & Answers

Where do the proceeds for the events go?

All proceeds are reinvested directly into Garden State Author Talks programming—bringing more leading authors to New Jersey, improving the event experience, and creating bigger, better, and more memorable live conversations between readers and the writers they love. GSAT is powered entirely by volunteers, helping ensure resources stay focused on the mission.

Which bookstores does Garden State Author Talks work with?

We work with all New Jersey-based, New York Times reporting, independent bookstores. We do not purchase books from bulk retailers, nor do we partner with national chains such as Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million.

Supporting the independent bookstore ecosystem is central to our mission.

Are books included with tickets?

Many GSAT events include a copy of the featured author's book with admission. This should be clearly indicated on each event page.

Are books signed?

Signing arrangements vary by event and author. Some events feature signed books, live signing lines, photo opportunities, or pre-signed copies. Event pages will always include specific details.

How can I support GSAT?

The simplest way is to attend an event. Every ticket helps support future programming and allows us to bring more authors and cultural voices to New Jersey communities.

Can I volunteer?

Yes. GSAT is powered entirely by volunteers. If you're interested in helping create memorable literary experiences, we'd love to hear from you. Please email info@njtalks.org.
